Since the winter semester 2014, special works from the University Library (UB) have been on public display at the Alpen-Adria-Universität at regular intervals. These “treasures”, which cannot be borrowed, are usually carefully stored in the special collections of the University Library and include manuscripts, incunabula and rare works of the art of printing. The series also includes recent editions and new acquisitions such as artists’ books and facsimiles, as well as works from the special libraries Goess-, Buttinger- and Karl Popper Collection and Carinthiaca.
The first ten exhibitions are now available for a perusal on a permanent basis in a representative, richly illustrated documentary volume. The explanatory texts – all in German and English – were written by eleven authors from various fields.
