The Sliwowski bar retention system makes it possible to stabilize complete dentures on a prefabricated prosthetic bar supported by two implants. The implants are placed transgingivally using a mucosa-supported surgical guide, the design of which is based on a cone beam or conventional CT scan. The bar is screwed onto the implants, and the bar casing is incorporated into the prosthesis. This approach allows for immediate prosthetics without the need for custom retention elements. The retention elements match each other with a high precision of fit and can be locked. Immediate loading is possible because the retention bar ensures primary stability and the locking mechanism eliminates unwanted retraction forces.
